Sewage pumps and water pumps are common equipment in engineering. There are sometimes differences between the two. So what is the difference between sewage pumps and water pumps?

1. Different principles

①Sewage pump: It is a type of centrifugal impurity pump and has many forms. The sewage pump is the same as other pumps. The impeller and pressure water chamber are the two core components of the sewage pump.


② Water pump: It has an air suction (water) nozzle and an exhaust (water) nozzle, one inlet and one outlet, and can continuously form a vacuum or negative pressure at the inlet; a slight positive pressure is formed at the exhaust nozzle.

3. Different processing media

Generally, the water quality treated by sewage pumps is relatively poor. The conveyed medium contains fibers that are easily entangled or bunched. ; The working conditions handled by submersible pumps are relatively simple, and the medium transported is mainly clean water. The material requirements of the product are easier to select than those of sewage pumps.


4. Different structures

Because of the differences in the media they handle, there are differences between sewage pumps and submersible pumps. Sewage pumps require technology to handle media with long fibers, paper scraps and other solid particles, so blockage resistance and reliability are important factors in the quality of sewage pumps; Compared with sewage pumps, submersible pumps have a much simpler structure.


5. Different application scopes

Sewage pumps are used in sewage transportation/discharge, sponge cities, industrial wastewater transportation, pumping station drainage, urban flood prevention and discharge, etc.; while submersible pumps are used in deep well water intake, irrigation, ocean platforms and other fields.
